The Versa Ring is made by fusing two separate pieces of high quality 316 stainless steel together. This fusion creates two “seams” in the ring. These seams are designed to break apart [much sooner than traditional metal rings] when the ring experiences an accidental tension force above a certain threshold.

The only 100% protection from a ring injury is to not wear a ring at all. But this is not practical for most people who enjoy wearing rings to express their relationship commitments or sense of fashion.

It is recommended that when performing any activities with a high risk of hand injury to remove any and all jewelry, rings, bracelets, watches, etc.

Unfortunately, a ring catch (avulsion) injury can happen at any time. Some injuries have happened when people slipped and fell, reaching out to grab something, or jumped over a fence, climbing a ladder, dunking a basketball, etc.

Versa Rings are tested in-house using calibrated load cells and drop testing based on biomechanical research on ring injuries.

Stainless steel has some excellent properties when it comes to jewelry. It is rust, corrosion, and stain resistant and is very durable, able to withstand the constant wear and tear of everyday use.

While it’s hard to find data on these types of injuries, it has been estimated there are 150,000 ring avulsion accidents per year, with different ranges of severity. It is generally considered a rare but devastating injury.

Silicone rings are great for safety but they lack durability and classic styling. They are made of cheap material, are sold for cheap, and end up looking cheap not long after. No matter how much “metallic glitter” is added to a silicone ring, it will never look like a true metal ring. Versa Rings have the traditional look, feel, and durability of metal combined with the reduced failure point of silicone.
